What is a servo motor

A servo mechanism is an automatic control system that enables the output controlled variables such as the position, orientation, and state of an object to follow any changes in the input target (or given value).

Servo motorDivided into DC servo motors and AC servo motors. DC servo motors are relatively inexpensive, while AC servo motors are more commonly used. There are synchronous and asynchronous types, and servo motors have superior control characteristics, precision capabilities, and high-speed performance.

Due to its outstanding performance, it is widely used in non-standard automation equipment, mainly in demanding high-speed, high-precision, and frequent acceleration and deceleration transfer and positioning processes in automation applications.

Selection of servo motor

01

Determine mechanical specifications, load rigidity, and other parameters.

02

Calculate the acceleration torque and deceleration torque by combining the initially selected motor inertia and load inertia.

03

Calculate the acceleration torque and deceleration torque by combining the initially selected motor inertia and load inertia.

04

Calculate the load torque based on the load weight, configuration method, friction coefficient, and operating efficiency.

05

According to the operating conditions, select an appropriate load inertia calculation formula to calculate the load inertia of the mechanism.

06

Calculate the continuous instantaneous torque based on the load torque, acceleration torque, deceleration torque, and holding torque.

07

Be clear about the requirements of the load mechanism for motion conditions, such as acceleration/deceleration speed, mechanism weight, mechanism movement mode, etc.
